입원의학은 입원 환자에게 전문적이고 체계적인 진료를 제공하는 매우 중요한 분야입니다.
입원 기간은 환자의 상태가 가장 불안정하고 집중적인 관리가 필요한 시기이기 때문입니다. 또한 최근 국내외 의료환경이 빠르게 변화하면서 입원의학의 전문성과 필요성은 더욱 강조되고 있습니다.
이에 의료진 간의 협력과 학문적 발전을 도모하고 입원의학의 가치를 널리 알리고자
대한입원의학회 (The Korean Association of Hospital Medicine, KAHM)를 창설하게 되었습니다.
대한입원의학회는 전문과목에 관계없이 입원환자 진료를 책임지는 모든 입원의학 전문가들이 함께하는 통합의 장입니다. 입원의학전문의뿐 아니라 전문간호사, 전담간호사 등 다양한 직종의 의료진이 함께 모여 다학제적 협력을 실현하고자 합니다. 특히 수련병원뿐만 아니라 비수련병원에 종사하는 입원전담전문의의 역할과 필요성을 반영하여, 교육과 정책 제안에도 앞장설 것입니다.
향후 학회는 다음과 같은 역할을 수행해 나가겠습니다.

전문간호사와 전담간호사 대상 교육 프로그램 개발 및 보수 교육 실시

효율적인 입원환자 관리 시스템 개발 및 수가 개선을 위한 대정부 정책 제안
입원의학은 더 나은 환자 중심 진료, 효율적인 병원 운영, 그리고 의료진의 만족도를 위한 핵심 열쇠가 될 것입니다. 대한입원의학회는 여러분의 소중한 의견과 참여를 바탕으로 지속적인 성장과 도약을 이뤄나가겠습니다.

Dear esteemed members and all those who wish for the advancement of hospital medicine.
Hospital medicine is a vital field that provides specialized and systematic care for hospitalized patients. The period of hospitalization is when patients are at their most vulnerable and require intensive management. Furthermore, as the medical environment at home and abroad changes rapidly, the expertise and necessity of hospital medicine are being emphasized more than ever. In order to promote collaboration among healthcare professionals, foster academic development, and widely publicize the value of hospital medicine, we have established the Korean Association of Hospital Medicine (KAHM).
KAHM is an integrated platform for all hospital medicine professionals responsible for inpatient care, regardless of their specialty. Not only hospitalists but also advanced practice nurses, dedicated nurses, and various other healthcare professionals will come together to realize multidisciplinary collaboration. In particular, reflecting the roles and needs of hospitalists working in both training and non-training hospitals, our association will take the lead in education and policy proposals.
Going forward, our association will fulfill the following roles:

Unification and empowerment of hospital medicine professionals
•
Academic exchange based on multidisciplinary collaboration
•
Development and implementation of educational and continuing education programs for advanced practice and dedicated nurses
•
Provision of systematic and practical training programs for residents
•
Strengthening of core competencies and procedural skills (such as bedside ultrasonography) for hospitalists
•
Development of efficient inpatient management systems and policy proposals to the government for reimbursement improvement
Hospital medicine will be the key to better patient-centered care, efficient hospital operations, and greater satisfaction among healthcare providers. The Korean Association of Hospital Medicine will continue to grow and make great strides based on your valuable opinions and participation.
